Community Outreach
At Palmetto Community Church, we believe in the power of community, and it is one of our core missions to connect with those in our surrounding area.
By connecting with our fellow neighbors, we can make a difference in people’s everyday lives that will foster more community involvement, better public servants, and create opportunities to share the Word of God.
HOMELESS CARE KITS
For the Month of September, the Women’s Ministry is collecting items for Homeless care kits.
Water bottles, Granola Bars, hard candy, single water flavor sticks lemonade/tea, single coffee sticks, individually packaged sturdy snacks like peanut butter crackers or granola bars, personal wipes, feminine products, travel size deodorant, Chapstick, socks, gallon zip lock bags.
We are also collecting $10 dollar FOOD gift cards.
Winter is coming so maybe some hats and gloves, etc. These will be sorted and placed in Gallon size bags to give out as we see a need. Please bring your items to the church Foyer and leave in the prepared bins.
FAMILY CARE BAGS
PCC’s Women’s Ministry Loves to give back to the community. One such Ministry of giving back- is giving small tangible items that help make someone’s life a little easier when dealing with a crisis, such as a family member in ICU. This is why we want to give “Family Care Bags” that will be filled with things such as insulated mugs, notebooks, pens, busy books like crossword/sudoku, seek and find and reader’s digest.
We are working with the Chaplains at Roper hospital, so these things may not be church branded. These will be an anonymous gift to the recipient with no strings attached.
We will be taking up donations for this cause alongside the Homeless Gift Bag Ministry. Please bring your items to the church and place in the bins in the Foyer.
